Kevin Harvick won the Wonderful Pistachios 400 at a very unusual caution filled race. Tied the record for most cautions at Richmond (15).
All the incidents were crashes, no debris cautions. Some of which were those "Temper, temper" moments. We had Brian Vickers vs. Marcos Ambrose, Travis Kvapil vs. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch vs. Jimmie Johnson.
Biggest story was the race to the Chase. Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr., both of which had no wins, had to secure their positions with decent runs. Tony Stewart had no issues with this, however Earnhardt Jr.'s run was going to be a long day. Dale Jr. was involved in a early Big One that happened in the opening laps, which involved Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer (also Race for the Chase contenders) where involved in. Dale Earnhardt Jr. had to battle his car throughout the day, getting a 18th place finish. But it was enough to secure him into the Chase.
